FACTIONS
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
HUMANS
Humans do not hold any special abilities. They can die from many ailments, injuries, and curses from the supernatural. Humans are only able to turn into two supernatural creatures on this forum: vampires and werewolves. They can only do so once bitten.
HUNTERS
Hunters can be human or the supernatural. Hunters dedicate their lives to eliminating one species. Human hunters have no special abilities. They require weapons to eliminate their targets. Hunters that are of supernatural or paranormal blood carry their abilities with them. They carry weapons with them to blend in with other hunters. Hunters may be in groups, though most tend to work alone. There are many faction hunters and are listed below.
•General Hunter - This hunter specializes in hunting ALL supernatural and paranormal creatures. These hunters are very rare and they have usually descended from a long line of hunters.
•Vampire Hunter - Vampire hunters specialize in hunting vampires ONLY. They usually are prepared with the usual, wooden stake, holy water, and silver.
•Werewolf Hunter - Werewolf hunters specialize in hunting werewolves ONLY. They usually are prepared with silver and holy water.
•Paranormal Hunter - Paranormal hunters specialize in hunting ghosts ONLY. They are usually prepared with rock salt, Latin verses, and holy water.
•Siren Hunter - Siren hunters specialize in hunting sirens ONLY. There has yet to be a successful siren hunter, as most have not yet found a way to kill a siren.
•Witch/Warlock Hunter - Witch/Warlock hunters specialize in hunting witches and warlocks ONLY. They are usually prepared with potions, holy water, various weapons. (Witches and warlocks are technically humans with abilities. It is very easy to kill a witch or warlock.)
VAMPIRES
Vampires are undead creatures. They are naturally pale and when malnourished appear sickly. Though they can eat regular food, vampires are sustained by blood alone. Vampires are cold to the touch. The largest Vampire covens are located in Romania and Transylvania, because those countries are the two most tolerant of their kind. Pure silver can harm a vampire, the reaction of silver is much like a burn. Garlic does nothing to a vampire. Sunlight can severely hurt a vampire depending on age and time of day (The older a vampire, the more sunlight they can withstand and the earlier the day, the worse the sun hurts). Vampires have super-human strength and healing capabilities. Vampires can be harmed by spells but they recover much quicker than a human. Senses as a vampire are heightened. Vampires have the ability to read minds. A vampire can only be killed by driving a wooden stake through its heart, or decapitation. Children of Vampires do not become vampires; they must be bitten. When a human is bitten, the Vampire’s venom enters their bloodstream and the transformation begins immediately. This process would be agonizing and takes about five to ten minutes.
THEY DO NOT
•Fly
•Control minds
•Sparkle
WEREWOLVES
Werewolves are created by being bitten by another werewolf (they must be fully transformed for the full changes to occur). Once a person is bitten they will change into a wolf at the full moon. If a werewolf does not take the wolfsbane potion they lose all human awareness taking on the characteristics of wolf. Wolfsbane potion can be used to keep the human part of the person intact during the full moon. Someone who takes the wolfsbane potion on a regular basis can delay their transformation until they are exposed to moonlight (though this varies from werewolf to werewolf). Werewolves can be easily distinguished from regular wolves by several small distinguishing characteristics, such as the pupils of the eyes, the snout shape, and the tufted tail. Children of werewolves do not transform into werewolves. They may or may not show some werewolf habits (Stiffness around the full moon, aggressive behavior, increased irritability, fatigue). There is no cure for lycanthropy. Werewolves can be severely injured by silver, though only a silver bullet through the heart may kill a werewolf.
SIRENS
Sirens throw handfuls of fire when angry. Their faces change to a birdlike appearance, and they sprout scaly wings. These changes disappear when the siren calms down. Sirens have a natural affinity for nature and draw men to them easily. Sirens in “human” form are very beautiful. Sirens are considered cursed creatures, and are not killed easily. Once they are exposed to water, a siren's legs are turned to fins, and their wings appear. The human term for a siren is mermaid/merman.
GHOSTS
Ghosts are undead. They can manifest fully, or partially. They are able to speak to the living and touch things in the living world. They are cursed creatures. They cannot die, only be banished back to limbo.
WITCHES/WARLOCKS
Witches and warlocks are gifted humans who have the ability to change and curse by means of supernatural or paranormal powers. Most of the witchcraft populace are female, though there are a few male witches known as warlocks. They are powerful creatures, though they are most powerful when they are fledglings. A fledgling witch/warlock is one who has just discovered their powers. They are deemed dangerous because of their inabilities to control their powers.
BANSHEES
Banshees are known as an omen of death. They derive from Irish folklore and scream at incredibly high wavelengths. They are part fairy and are a coven of women only. To kill a banshee, one must strip them of their wings. They have no other abilities other than to see a death before it happens. They are considered part seer.
HAGS
A hag is usually portrayed as a wizened old woman, or a kind of fairy or goddess having the appearance of such a woman, often found in folklore and children's tales. However, there have been some cases where men have been seen as hags, often shape shifting into the old woman. Hags are often seen as malevolent, however, they are usually placed in your life to teach you a lesson. Do not cross a Hag, as they can become violent and unruly. They are as easy to kill as a human, though they are excellent tricksters.
There is an endless list of supernatural creatures that can be added here. If you would like to create a character that is not part of the factions above, please message an administrator with a brief history/description of the faction and it will be added to the list for future members!
